Last class in Australia.
Tag someone who needs it! $20 and all are welcome. Sydney northern beaches we are on again for another @foundationtraining class on the beach. Wednesday morning at 6:30am at Newport Beach, on the sand just north of the peak at the volleyball court.
Come start your day with some expansive breathing and powerful movements that will decompress your spine and strengthen your core.
Class is $20 and open to all ages and levels of fitness. Beautiful sunrise session on the beach this morning utilizing @foundationtraining and @functionalrangeconditioning to help out with some non specific low back pain issues as well as a reoccurring shoulder dislocation.
You can see in the second photo the crease on the right side, indicating a lack of adequate tension and stability of the rib cage. Using founders, lunge decompressions and woodpeckers, we can retrain the body’s ability to provide and maintain the support needed, which is now his homework and should improve over time. We also found that spinal segmentation was a challenge and so he will be working on CARs to improve his control through various ranges of motion with the intent of increasing intensity over time.
Video 3 shows his Glenomhumeral CARs, functioning both as an assessment as well as a training stimulus to increase his control in a range of motion that (due to previous recurring shoulder dislocations) he has been hesitant to move through. We can also see that creating and maintaining tension is a challenge here but it should improve over time.
Photo 4 we are working on external rotation PAILs/RAILs to build confidence and strength in the position in which the injury has occurred in an attempt to bulletproof the joint and mitigate the chance of future injury or at least decrease the severity of the injury if it occurs again.
Not shown, we finished up by pulling it all back together again with founders using the platter hand positioning to tension the lats, providing a little extra shoulder support and little more stability through the mid back.
Changes won’t happen over night, but with persistence, I am very confident he is going to get a real good handle on these niggling injuries and the chance of reoccurrence should decrease over time as adaptations take place.
I’ve got Monday and Tuesday left taking private’s before I leave and another group class on Wednesday morning, so if you would like to book in a session before I go please send me a DM and let’s line it up! Awesome first class back on home soil this morning!
Thanks everybody for coming down early and trying something new. It’s always a little nerve racking to challenge the norm with a new group, so thank you for the trust and for putting in the work!

I’ll be doing it all again, same time next week and if you would like to book a private @foundationtraining session before I go home at the end of the month, please send me a DM as I would love to help you while I can! Sydney northern beaches! I’m holding a pop up @foundationtraining class on the beach tomorrow morning at 6:30am at Newport Beach, on the sand just north of the peak.
Come start your day with some expansive breathing and powerful movements that will decompress your spine and strengthen your core.
Class is $20 and open to all ages and levels of fitness. What an awesome bunch we had for our first ever @platform_sydney workshop. I had a hell time taking the crew through the story of our breath and how we can use it to affect our mood, physiology and our mechanics and finished up the day with a good old dunk in the ice.
@balancedstudio Really brought the heat taking everyone through some epic coordination games which I will surely be bringing home to share with all of you in LA.
@rhythmhealth took the room to a whole new level, teaching us all ways to get in touch with and how to express anger and rage in a way that felt beautiful and cathartic all at the same time.
I can’t thank everyone enough for making the day such a special one. Stay on the lookout for more from the team because we are taking this concept all over and we want you to be involved! #Repost @platform_sydney with @download_repost

Including practical ways you can harness your breath for energy and stress management, techniques for building strength and mobility, and helping understand what’s going on up there to create a calmer and more productive state of mind.
Tickets are still available!

The black circles represent the passive range available to any given joint in your body, now and later.
—
❌ The red circle represents how much of a given joint’s passive range is explored and expressed actively on a regular basis by the general public.
—
✅ The green circle represents that joint being fully explored and expressed actively every day during the FRC-inspired morning CARs routine.

@functionalrangeconditioning Foundation Training class, new time tomorrow night at Sacred Circle, El Segundo.
Come join me on Wednesday evening for some expansive breathing, spine lengthening and muscle integrating. Learn how to leverage and integrate the most powerful muscles in your body so that you can stand taller, move beautifully and live pain free.
Space is limited so go to www.sacredcirclehc.com to secure your spot!
Learning how to breathe better can affect a whole lotta conditions throughout the body. Just look at how connected the diaphragm is with the rib cage, the spine and the psoas. It’s no wonder we see such improvements in performance and declines in back pain when we learn how breathe properly.
Slide two shows the heart sitting right above the diaphragm and what isn’t shown is the liver which sits below it. When we breathe properly, we provide movement and nourishment to our organs which is just as important, if not more important than regular movement of our muscles.
Slide three shows some really important blood vessels and nerves exiting the spine, traveling below the collarbone and these too can benefit from improved breathing mechanics by creating space.
If any of this speaks to you, check out @foundationtraining learn decompression breathing and enjoy the long lasting benefits that come from it.

Some additional illustration s done up for @suefalsone ‘s book “Bridging The Gap, From Rehab To Performance”. First painting depicting the diaphragm , arcuate ligaments , and psoas / ql muscular attachments. The second depicting the mediastinum and the third showcasing the thoracicoutlet / relationships between viscera and the diaphragm. All pieces were done with acrylic and ice marker on watercolor paper with ballpointpen crisping of lines . About 50 accumulative hours of work between the 3 paintings . Despite having a broken ankle at the moment, there’s actually been quite a lot of movement I’ve been able to do while healing.
One major priority I’ve made for myself, is not letting couch time become the norm. I want to make sure my spine and rib cage stay expanded and pain free and I don’t want my organs to get worse at their job due to lack of space.
This @foundationtraining routine has been a big one for me if I need a 10 to 15 minute break and for when I wanna warm up real quick.
I’ve been a bit slack in showing the rehab process, but I’m going to pull my finger out this week and show you what’s been working and the thought process behind it all.

I posted two rounds of this routine here to let that @mindagainst mix play out another minute for you.
SYDNEY AUSTRALIA!

Next month I’ll be back in town and teaming up with the lads @rhythmhealth and @balancedstudio for a full day immersive experience, equipping you with tools to make this your best year yet. Don’t miss it! Head on over to the link my bio to get your tickets.

Part 1: Breath
Hey guys, this is Nick from Home Holistic L.A and I’m really exited to share with you what I’ve got cooking for the platform event in Sydney.
I’m going to give you an experienced based understanding of the power of your breath, something I believe to be the low hanging fruit for improving performance and well-being. Ill be teaching you how to breathe more efficiently, affecting your posture, chemistry and bodily systems and showing you how to use these techniques to alter your mental state, increase your energy and better handle stress.
These tools have been really impactful for myself and the client’s I use them with, and I know they’ll have the same effect with you.
I look forward to having an epic day with you all soon!
For all details and to save your space follow the link in bio or get in touch via email or DM.

You’ll always regret not training the position you get injured in.
Falling victim to my own words this week. That’s my broken ankle on the table and this is a video that popped up on my feed today.
Any other surfers out there lacking ankle mobility? I never spent a lot of time training ankle mobility but now I’m wishing I did. Maybe the little bit I have done saved my knee? Snowboarders should read this too. We can train tendons and ligaments to get stronger, you just need to know the right way to stress the tissue.
